It's been several months since we posted about Henry's senior moment. In May, Henry celebrated his 15th birthday. Over the past months, we have been through many rounds of tests, prescriptions, diagnoses, more tests, etc. We were very sad to learn that Henry does have cancer and his time with us is limited. The good news is that, after the x-rays and ultrasound he had done today, we know that he is comfortable and can lead a happy life for the time he has left. We don't know what we will do without him, but we are happy to know that we will have a few months of good, quality time with him before we have to make any difficult decisions.
Henry is not a fan of the vet and always behaves very badly when he is being examined. Today, in order to give him the ultrasound, the vet had to give him a valium and some anesthesia to get him to chill out. Several hours later, we are home with Henry and he is having trouble walking in a straight line. He has been walking into walls and walking in circles looking totally confused. We feel like we are babysitting a drunk cat. It's pretty funny.
Although he is not pleased to be sporting another shaved belly (right after the fur from the previous ultrasound had grown back), Henry was thrilled to hear that he is officially allowed to eat anything he wants, including tuna, and we can take him off of the prescription food.
Sorry for the sad news about Henry, but we wanted to keep everyone posted. Here are a few more pictures for your enjoyment.
