We had quite a surprise at our 20 week ultrasound last week. (No, it's not twins.) We had done some early testing that told us with 99% certainty that the baby was a girl, and we really didn't think it could be wrong. So, when the ultrasound tech asked us if we wanted to know the sex, we told her we already knew it. That's when she said, "who told you it was a girl?" And then, "Dad, you'd better sit down for this. That's a boy." We couldn't believe it! Here's the proof (sorry if this is a bit graphic):
Once we got over the shock, we were really excited. We think having one of each is great! Of course, we now have to redecorate the nursery and buy all new clothes, but I've never been one to turn down an opportunity to go shopping.
Elizabeth was a little confused when we told her the news, but when I told her that I have a little brother, and her much idolized cousin Jack has a little brother, she seemed to get on board.
We hope this is the last surprise for the next 20 weeks!
